The women's singles badminton event at the 2011 Pan American Games will be held from October 15–20 at the Multipurpose Gymnasium in Guadalajara.[1] The defending Pan American Games champion is Eva Lee of the United States, while the defending Pan American Championship champion is Cee Ketpura, also of the United States.
The athletes will be drawn into elimination stage draw. Once an athlete loses a match, they will no longer be able to compete. Each match is contested as the best of three games. A game is won when one side first scores 21 points. A point is awarded to the winning side of each rally. If the score becomes 20-all, the side which gains a two point lead first will win that game. If the score becomes 29-all, the side scoring the 30th point will win that game.[1]
The draw for the competition was done on October 7, 2011.[2]
